Sunday, June 20th, 2010

Those looking for a small, slick and affordable PMP might want to have a look at the Ainol V7000HDK, the smaller brother of the impressive V9000HDA. The Ainol V7000HDK sports a 3″ 400×240 screen, has tv-out and 4GB of flash memory, which can be expanded using micro-SD cards. With a price of only $44.99/€36.36 (worldwide shipping included) at ChinaBuye, this player is quite a bargain.

Ainol V9000HDA unboxing

Thursday, April 29th, 2010

Here is another unboxing of a portable media player from China. This time it’s the Ainol V9000HDA, boasting a 4.3″ 800×480 touchscreen. I got mine from HouseOfDAP for $136 with free worldwide shipping. It’s also available from AllPMP for $128.99, but if you add the shipping costs, it will cost a bit more although you get some free accessories. So far, the Ainol V9000HDA  is the slickest looking device I received from China, even the box looks nice. Expect a full review in the days to come.

Ramos T11TE review

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Portable media players from China have quite a bad reputation, but lately it seems like things improved considerably. The Ramos T11TE is the latest flagship device of the company, boasting impressive specs like a 5″ 800×480 touchscreen, HDMI output, USB-OTG and 1080p video playback, while still keeping a very attractive pricepoint of $148.99/€109.97. Read on to find out if this device is as good as it looks on paper.

Ramos T11TE unboxing video

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

What is the first thing you do when you receive a new gadget? Of course, you got to shoot one of those unboxing videos that nobody asked for but everybody loves to see. The Ramos T11TE comes in one of the ugliest boxes I’ve ever seen, but luckily the first impressions of the device are pretty good.  So far, this 5″ touchscreen PMP plays everything I throw at it, including 1080p HD videos. Not bad for a device that costs a mere $148.99/€109.73. Our friends at AllPMP even included a whole bunch of free accessories, more than listed on the product page (I received two screen protectors and a silicone case). Anyway read on to watch the unboxing video and stay tuned for the full review.

Zune HD 32 GB available worldwide, thanks to the Chinese

Thursday, December 24th, 2009

I never got this. The Zune HD is one of the few Microsoft products that actually amazed me and then they decided to release it only stateside (yet). Luckily, we got Dealextreme to the rescue, so you don’t have to look at shady eBay sellers to get your hands on one of these. Priced at $309.57/€216.80 with free worldwide shipping, it’s not very attractive for Americans, but for anybody living elsewhere this is a pretty interesting deal. It’s cheaper than an iPod Touch 32GB in Europe, and a lot more sexy with that OLED screen.

RAmos T11 8GB 5″ touchscreen PMP pricedrop

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The RAmos T11 RK is now available for a measly $119.90/€81.84 at allPMP. Pretty damn cheap for this 8 GB media player with a 5″ 800×480 touchscreen that’s even capable of running Android. Besides that, it’s simply the most sexy PMP from China.

Update: The T11 RK has a Rockchip instead of the Texas Instruments Ti DaVinci chipset in the original RAmos T11. The newer version is not capable of running Android. Thank you Dima!

Ainol V6000HDA 16GB 4.3″ PMP is very very cheap

Friday, August 21st, 2009

Allpmp is now selling the Ainol V6000HDA 16GB for a measly $78.90/€55.40. That’s less than an iPod Shuffle. The Ainol V6000HDA is a pretty slick PMP that boasts a beautiful 4.3″ with a stunning resolution of 800×480 (yes, thats 2.5 times the amount of pixels found on the iPod Touch) and supports microSD cards up to 32GB for those who think 16GB just isn’t enough. The V6000HDA one of those Chinese PMPs that play almost anything you throw at it and even comes with tv-out cables and a remote. It doesn’t have a touchscreen though, so you’ll have to use those good ol’ tactile buttons. The interface might be a bit clumsy at times, but being this cheap, the Ainol V6000HDA simply a steal.
