Apple iPad worldwide pre-orders in dollar prices

Saturday, March 13th, 2010

Hong Kong based AllPMP is now taking pre-orders for the much hyped Apple iPad. Starting at $578.99/€423.95 for the 16GB version, it costs considerably less than the 499 euros that Apple will be charging in Europe. It’s not very useful for the Americans amongst us, but those living somewhere else where the iPad will cost more or doesn’t even have a release date, might be delighted by the fact that AllPMP ships worldwide. Besides the 16GB version, they also take pre-orders for the 32GB version for $698.99/€507.80 and the 64GB version for $798.99/€580.45. Depending on the model, they expect to receive 40-100 units between 8 and 16 April, so you got to be quick before they sell out.

Ramos T11TE review

Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010

Portable media players from China have quite a bad reputation, but lately it seems like things improved considerably. The Ramos T11TE is the latest flagship device of the company, boasting impressive specs like a 5″ 800×480 touchscreen, HDMI output, USB-OTG and 1080p video playback, while still keeping a very attractive pricepoint of $148.99/€109.97. Read on to find out if this device is as good as it looks on paper.

Ramos T11TE unboxing video

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

What is the first thing you do when you receive a new gadget? Of course, you got to shoot one of those unboxing videos that nobody asked for but everybody loves to see. The Ramos T11TE comes in one of the ugliest boxes I’ve ever seen, but luckily the first impressions of the device are pretty good.  So far, this 5″ touchscreen PMP plays everything I throw at it, including 1080p HD videos. Not bad for a device that costs a mere $148.99/€109.73. Our friends at AllPMP even included a whole bunch of free accessories, more than listed on the product page (I received two screen protectors and a silicone case). Anyway read on to watch the unboxing video and stay tuned for the full review.

Nexus One available worldwide thanks to AllPMP

Sunday, January 31st, 2010

For a tech freak like me, there’s nothing more frustrating than seeing wonderful gadgets being released and not being able to get them, because they are not (yet) available in your country. Google’s Nexus One phone is one of those devices. Luckily there is AllPMP to the rescue. Our Hong Kong based friends are now selling the Android phone for $649.99/€465.40. They also sell the Motorole Milestone for $578.99/€414.57, which is another great Android phone that isn’t available in most parts of the world. The only thing you can blame AllPMP is that you now have a hard time deciding which one to get: the cheaper Milestone with the full QWERTY keyboard or the Nexus One with it’s gorgeous OLED screen.

SmartQ V5 available at DealExtreme

iPod Nano 16GB for a measly $144.99/€100! – Update: not anymore

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

AllPMP, one of my favorite webshops from China just restyled their website. Even better, they added a lot of new products and dropped the prices of some others. The iPod Nano is now available for a measly $144.99/€100. That’s €69 cheaper than what Apple is charging here in Europe. Standard shipping costs are only $6/€4.15. I’m not sure if this is a mistake, so get them while you can.

Update: AllPMP changed the price of the 16GB iPod Nano to $174.99, still €35 cheaper compared to Europe

Kindle and Sony eBook readers with sweet dollar prices for Europeans

Thursday, December 3rd, 2009

For those living in Europe or any other country that doesn’t use the weak dollar as their currency, it’s nice to know Allpmp is selling Kindle and Sony eBook readers in dollar prices. This means you can get a Sony PRS-600 Touch for $299.90/€198.74 instead of the usual €299 retail price. They also sell the Amazon Kindle 2 Global Wireless Edition for $289.90/€192.14 and the Amazon Kindle DX Global Wireless Edition for $529.90/€351.16. The Kindles might be lower priced at Amazon.com, but Amazon forces you to pay import fees and higher shipping rates when checking out, so you can still save some serious bucks if the package won’t get checked by the customs. Sweet.

BenQ S6 MID, cheapest UMPC available?

Tuesday, December 1st, 2009

Sure, this device might be released a year ago and is a bit bulky compared to other < 5″ devices.  But now Allpmp started selling the BenQ S6 MID for $349.99/€242.49, which is a whole lot less than the €429 when it was released in Italy and about half the price of comparable devices. For this money you’ll get an UMPC with an 800MHz Intel Atom processor, 512MB RAM, 2GB Flash memory, Wifi, a 4.8″ 800×480 touchscreen and UMTS/HSDPA for some good ol’ 3G browsing on the go. It even has a motion sensor, so it’s possible to perform awesome actions, like scrolling a webpage by tilting the device and uhh… other stuff. While it’s far from a powerhouse, the x86 processor means you can install Windows XP on this little device. After the break, you’ll find a corny commercial that demonstrates how you’ll never use the SmartQ S6.

RAmos T11 8GB 5″ touchscreen PMP pricedrop

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The RAmos T11 RK is now available for a measly $119.90/€81.84 at allPMP. Pretty damn cheap for this 8 GB media player with a 5″ 800×480 touchscreen that’s even capable of running Android. Besides that, it’s simply the most sexy PMP from China.

Update: The T11 RK has a Rockchip instead of the Texas Instruments Ti DaVinci chipset in the original RAmos T11. The newer version is not capable of running Android. Thank you Dima!
