This is the 100-in-1 2.4″ LCD Portable Handheld Game Console from DealExtreme, also known as the D-Cat8 8bit Game Console. As you’d probably guessed, this handheld runs on 3 AAA batteries and comes with 100 built-in 8-bit games. Only problem is that these aren’t the ones you grew up with. The 100 games are largely hacked versions of the original. So instead of everbody’s favorite plumber, you play as a fat green orge in the sprite-hacked Super Shrek Bros. It still plays the same, but it’s quite strange to see a 21st century character in a 8-bit game. I don’t know why they replaced one intellectual property with another one, because they now violate both. My guess is that the outcome is so stupid, both companies won’t even bother to do something about it. However, $19.99 for a handheld console with a color screen and 100 games still isn’t a bad deal. It’s also available in black & blue.
